Soya Capsicum Kootu is a tasty side dish made with the combo of soya and capsicum. Soya is known to be an excellent source of protein and iron, and is the reason why it has to be added in our diet more often.  

The well cooked vegetable mixture of soya, carrot and capsicum is blended with the ground paste. Add the flavourful temperings to the dish and serve it hot with your steamed rice.


  • Soya -1/2 cup
  • Capsicum-2
  • Carrot-1
  • Grated Coconut-1/4 cup
  • Jeera-1/2 tsp
  • Green Chilli-1
  • Mustard-1/2 tsp
  • Urad Dal-1/2 tsp
  • Channa Dal-1/2 tsp
  • Red Chilli-1
  • Salt-to taste
  • Curry Leaves-1 sprig
  • How to Make Soya Capsicum Kootu:

    1. Soak soya overnight. In a pressure cooker, add soaked soya, chopped carrot and capsicum. Cook for 2 whistles.
    2. In a mixer, add grated coconut, jeera and green chilli and grind to a fine paste. Add this paste to the cooked mixture. Mix well and add salt.
    3. Temper with oil, mustard, urad and channa dals, red chilli and curry leaves. Finally, serve hot with rice.
