Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup - Dry green peas
  • 10- Soya chunks
  • 1- Onion (chopped)
  • 1- Tomato (chopped)
  • 2- Bay leaves
  • 1 tsp - Garlic paste
  • 1 tsp - Ginger paste
  • 2 tbsp - Coriander leaves (chopped)
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • To Grind:
  • 1 tsp - Peppercorns
  • 1 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp - Fennel seeds
  • 1/4 cup - Grated coconut pieces
  • 1- Cinnamon stick
  • 3- Cloves
  • 2 tbsp - Coriander seeds
  • 4- Dry red chillies
  • Ready made dosas- 5-6.

How to Make Soya Chunks and Green Peas Kurma

  • Soak the dry green peas overnight.
  • Cook in hot water with salt until half cooked.
  • Then drain the excess water and keep aside.
  • Now boil the soya chunks in salted hot water until they double their volume.
  • Drain and squeeze out the excess of water.
  • Meanwhile grind all the ingredients for grinding into a fine paste and keep aside.
  • Now heat oil in a kadai, add the bay leaves and saute until brown. Then add the chopped onions, tomatoes, ginger paste, garlic paste and saute for 4-5 mins.
  • Now add the half cooked green peas and the grounded paste to the kadai. Cover with a lid and simmer for a few minutes.
  • Then add the cooked soya chunks and water to the kadai and cook for 4-5 mins.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve with rice or chapattis.
