Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup - Dry Green peas
  • 10- Soya chunks
  • 1- Onion (chopped)
  • 1- Tomato (chopped)
  • 2- Bay Leaves
  • 1 tsp - Garlic paste
  • 1 tsp - Ginger paste
  • 2 tbsp - Coriander leaves (chopped)
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • To Grind:
  • 1 tsp - Peppercorns
  • 1 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp - Fennel seeds
  • 1/4 cup - Grated Coconut pieces
  • 1- Cinnamon stick
  • 3- Cloves
  • 2 tbsp - Coriander seeds
  • 4- Dry Red Chillies
  • Ready made dosas- 5-6.
  • How to Make Soya Chunks and Green Peas Kurma:

    1. Soak the dry green peas overnight.
    2. Cook in hot water with salt until half cooked.
    3. Then drain the excess water and keep aside.
    4. Now boil the soya chunks in salted hot water until they double their volume.
    5. Drain and squeeze out the excess of water.
    6. Meanwhile grind all the ingredients for grinding into a fine paste and keep aside.
    7. Now heat oil in a kadai, add the bay leaves and saute until brown. Then add the chopped onions, tomatoes, ginger paste, garlic paste and saute for 4-5 mins.
    8. Now add the half cooked green peas and the grounded paste to the kadai. Cover with a lid and simmer for a few minutes.
    9. Then add the cooked soya chunks and water to the kadai and cook for 4-5 mins.
    10. Garnish with coriander leaves.
    11. Serve with rice or chapattis.
