Ingredients

  • 8 - sardines or 6 - mackerels
  • 1 cup - thick coconut milk
  • 1/2 inch - ginger
  • 3 pod - garlic
  • 1/2 - red onion
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric
  • 2 tbsp - Kashmiri chilli
  • 1/2 tsp - coriander powder
  • A small ball of tamarind
  • Green chillies
  • Curry leaves
  • Coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Special Kerala Fish Curry

  • Clean and cut the fish.
  • Place in a wok.
  • To this, add ginger, garlic, onion, green chillies (all cut lengthwise), curry leaves, coriander leaves.
  • Soak tamarind in water and extract juice.
  • Add to the fish.
  • Also add the chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt.
  • Mix this to a smooth paste.
  • Add some water and boil for 10 mins.
  • Finally add the coconut milk.
  • Serve with hot rice.
