Ingredients

  • 3 - Onions cut in strips
  • 1.5 cup - gram flour
  • 1 tbsp - Wheat flour
  • 6 to 7 - green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1/4 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - ajwain seeds
  • 2 tbsp - hot oil
  • salt to taste
  • pinch of Hing
  • oil to deep fry

How to Make Special Onion Pakoras

  • Sprinkle salt over onion in a wide bowl. Keep aside for 15-20 mins.
  • Add all other ingredients and mix well. Do not add more water.
  • The water that oozes out while onion is being marinated is enough. Mix well.
  • Heat oil. Drop small lumps of mixture gently into the hot oil.
  • Deep-fry on medium heat till golden brown.
  • Drain on kitchen paper to remove excess oil.
  • Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
