  • 2 cups - prawns.
  • 1 cup -grated coconut.
  • 2 - Onions (medium size).
  • 1 - Tomato ( medium size).
  • 2 tsps - Red Chilli powder.
  • 1 tsp - Turmeric powder.
  • 1 tsp - garam masala.
  • Salt as per taste.
  • Coriander leaves.
  • oil.
  • 1.5 - bay leaves.
  • 1/2 inch - Cinnamon stick.
  • Ginger Garlic paste - 1 tbsp.
  • How to Make Special Prawns Masala:

    1. Slice 1 onion, saute in 1 tbsp oil until transparent. Then add grated coconut and saute till is browns.
    2. Then grind it to a paste and keep it aside.
    3. In a pan, heat 2 tbsps of oil. Add bay leaf and cinnamon stick, then add remaining onion and saute till transparent.
    4. Then add ginger garlic paste and red chilli powder, turmeric powder and garam masala. Fry it very well.
    5. Once the above mixture is done, add the prawns and also add the onion-coconut paste to the mixture.
    6. Mix it well and add little water to the gravy.
    7. Add salt as per your taste. Let it cook for 5 mins.
    8. Once the prawns are cooked, add chopped tomato to the above gravy and let it cook for a while till the gravy becomes thick.
    9. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or chapatti or bakri.
