  • 2 Onions
  • 1/2 kg - Tomatoes
  • 4-5 Green chillies
  • Salt to taste,
  • 1 tsp -sugar
  • 1 tbsp - roasted gram powder
  • 1/2 tbsp - chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp -garam masala
  • 1.5 tbsp - oil
  • 1/2 bunch - Coriander leaves
  • 2 tbsp -cashewnuts (chopped)
  • How to Make Special Tomato Gravy:

    1. Cut onions and tomatoes finely. Slit green chillies into two.
    2. Heat oil in a pan, season with mustard, black gram dal and Bengal gram dal.
    3. Add slit green chillies, onions and fry till the onion changes its colour.
    4. Add chopped tomatoes and fry till the tomato skin comes off from it.
    5. Now pour little water with salt and sugar. Allow it to boil, till it thickens, add garam masala, chilli powder and gram powder.
    6. Cook for a minute and remove from fire.
    7. Garnish with coriander leaves and decorate with fried cashewnuts. Serve hot with idlis or chapattis.
