Ingredients

  • 2 Onions
  • 1/2 kg - Tomatoes
  • 4-5 Green chillies
  • Salt to taste,
  • 1 tsp -sugar
  • 1 tbsp - roasted gram powder
  • 1/2 tbsp - chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp -garam masala
  • 1.5 tbsp - oil
  • 1/2 bunch - Coriander leaves
  • 2 tbsp -cashewnuts (chopped)

How to Make Special Tomato Gravy

  • Cut onions and tomatoes finely. Slit green chillies into two.
  • Heat oil in a pan, season with mustard, black gram dal and Bengal gram dal.
  • Add slit green chillies, onions and fry till the onion changes its colour.
  • Add chopped tomatoes and fry till the tomato skin comes off from it.
  • Now pour little water with salt and sugar. Allow it to boil, till it thickens, add garam masala, chilli powder and gram powder.
  • Cook for a minute and remove from fire.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and decorate with fried cashewnuts. Serve hot with idlis or chapattis.
