Ingredients

  • 8 - small Tomatoes
  • 4 - onions, made into paste
  • Curry leaves
  • 4 tsp - roasted gingili seed powder
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp - Garam Masala
  • 1/4 tsp - Sugar
  • A pinch of Turmeric
  • 1 tsp - ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/4 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp - sesame seeds
  • 2 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • A few Coriander leaves
  • Salt and oil as required
  • How to Make Special Tomato Masala:

    1. Heat 8 tsp of oil in kadai, add cumin and sesame seeds. When they splutter, add onion paste and fry on medium flame till it is golden brown in colour.
    2. Add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric and fry for a minute.
    3. Add red chilli powder and fry for a minute, then add slit tomatoes and cook on low flame for 5-10 mins.
    4. When tomatoes are cooked properly, add salt and gingili powder.
    5. Cook for 2-3 mins. When you get the aroma of cooked tomatoes, add coriander powder, garam masala and cook for 1 minute.
    6. Remove from flame and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
    7. Serve with naan.
