  • 2 cups - Rice flour
  • 2.5 cups - water
  • A pinch of salt
  • For the filling:
  • 1 cup - grated fresh Coconut
  • 1 cup - Jaggery
  • 2 tbsps - Raisin
  • 2 tbsps - Cashew nut - chopped
  • 1 tsp Cardamom - grinded
  • How to Make Special Ukadi Che Modak:

    1. Put 1 tbsp of ghee in a kadai and heat it.
    2. Fry the chopped cashewnut till it becomes golden brown.
    3. Remove from the kadai.
    4. Put the kadai on the gas stove again and put the grated coconut and jaggery into it.
    5. Mix well till the coconut becomes soft and jaggery melts. Blend well with the coconut.
    6. When the mixture is well cooked and becomes quite dry take off the kadai from the heat.
    7. Allow the mixture to cool.
    8. After cooling, add the raisins, fried cashewnut, cardamom powder to the coconut and jaggery mixture. Mix well.
    9. The filling is ready.
    10. Make a dough with the rice flour. Make small balls, stuff with the filling and then steam till done.
