Ingredients

  • Channa dal - 4 tbsp
  • Urad Dal - 1 tbsp
  • Green chillies - 4-5
  • Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
  • Tamarind extract - 1/2 tsp
  • Asafoetida (Hing) - 1/4 tsp
  • Oil - 1 and 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 1 stalk
  • salt to taste
  • A pinch of Sugar
  • How to Make Spicy Dal Chutney:

    1. Roast both the dals in 1/2 tsp of oil till light brown.
    2. Add chillies and asafoetida and roast for a 1-2 minutes.
    3. Mix with salt, sugar, tamarind extract, coriander leaves and grind it in a mixer with some water.
    4. Remove in a bowl.
    5. Make the seasoning with remaining oil, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves and add to the chutney.
