Ingredients

  • 2 cups - all - purpose flour
  • 1 cup - Whole wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp - Active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp - Sugar
  • 1 tsp - Salt
  • 1/2 cup - Luke warm milk
  • 2 tbsp - Olive oil
  • 2 tbsp - Coriander leaves (chopped)
  • 1 tsp - Red chilli flakes
  • 1/2 tsp - Dry Oregano
  • 1/2 tsp - Dry thyme leaves
  • 1 tbsp - Butter.

How to Make Spicy Herbed Breadsticks

  • Add the yeast, sugar and salt to the lukewarm water and keep aside until the yeast turns foamy.
  • Combine the flours in a bowl with coriander leaves, red chilly flakes, dry oregano and dry thyme leaves, and gradually add the foamy yeast, olive oil and water.
  • Now knead into a soft and smooth dough.
  • Cover the bowl and keep the dough in a warm place for 2 hours.
  • Once it doubles in size, punch it down and dust it with flour.
  • Then roll it into medium sized twisted strips.
  • Now arrange the rolled breadsticks over a baking sheet lined over the baking tray.
  • Preheat the oven to 350F.
  • Arrange the baking pan in the middle rack of the oven and bake for 25-30 mins until the crust of the bread stick turns golden brown.
  • Immediately brush the bread sticks with the butter.
  • Serve warm with a bowl of soup.
