Ingredients

  • 8 - Leftover idlis
  • Onion - 2 or 3 medium size
  • Curry leaves - few leaves
  • Haldi powder - 1/4th tsp
  • Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt as per taste
  • Coriander leaves - a few

How to Make Spicy Idli Upma

  • Powder the idlis with your hands.
  • Don't squash it, make it into small pieces.
  • Then in a kadai, heat oil, add mustard seeds.
  • After it splutters, add urad dal, curry leaves and then add onion after it has fried for few minutes.
  • Put the idlis and if you have idli chutney powder (moligai pudi), mix it well.
  • If it is not there, you can put chilli powder as per your taste.
  • Then just sprinkle a few drops of water and close the lid with some plate.
  • After sometime, garnish with coriander leaves and eat it hot.
