Ingredients

  • 2 pounds - mutton
  • 4 - cloves
  • 3 - bay leaves
  • 3 - cardamoms
  • 1/2 tsp - cumin seeds
  • 2 - cinnamon sticks
  • 2 - onions, medium size, chopped fine
  • 1/2 tsp - ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp - garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp - coriander powder
  • 2 tsp - tomato puree
  • 3 tsp - yogurt
  • 1 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - cashew nut powder

How to Make Spicy Mutton Masala

  • Heat oil in a pan, add cloves, bay leaves, cinnamon sticks, cardamom and cumin seeds. Let them turn brown.
  • Add cut onions, ginger-garlic paste and fry well.
  • Add tomato puree until cooked well and oil starts floating.
  • Add cashew powder, turmeric, garam masala, coriander powder, chilli powder, salt to taste and yogurt.
  • Put a little water and cook well.
  • Add the chopped mutton and let it cook well with the water.
  • Let the paste simmer well till the oil in the paste separates.
  • Garnish with some coriander leaves and chopped tomatoes and serve hot with rice or chapattis.
