  • 250 gms - Onions from Spring onion greens
  • 2 cups - wet brine
  • 1 recipe of Fiery red spice mixture
  • 1 tbsp - fresh grated Raw Mango or 1 tsp Mango powder
  • 1 cup - oil
  • 1/2 tsp - of Asafoetida
  • How to Make Spicy Onion Pickle:

    1. Peel outer skins of onions with a steel knife.
    2. Soak them in wet brine for 35-40 hours.
    3. Drain, wash thoroughly under running water.
    4. Dab with kitchen towel.
    5. Add 1 tbsp fresh grated raw mango or 1 tsp mango powder to spice mixture.
    6. Sprinkle this spice mixture over the onions.
    7. Heat oil and cool.
    8. Add asafoetida powder to it.
    9. Pack onions into jar.
    10. Pour cooled oil over it, keep aside.
    11. Shake every 24 hours till onions are tender.
