  • 2- Potatoes (big)
  • 1/2 cup - Onion (chopped)
  • 1- Tomato (chopped)
  • 1 tsp - Ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp - Fennel seed powder
  • 2 tbsp - Coconut milk
  • 1 tsp - Red chilli powder
  • 5- Curry leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil.

How to Make Spicy Potato Thokku

  • Heat oil in a kadai and saute the onions and the tomatoes, saute for a while. Then add the ginger garlic paste, fennel seed powder, saute until the oil separates.
  • Meanwhile cook the potatoes and mash them slightly.
  • Add the mashed potatoes, red chilli powder and salt to the cooking masala and simmer for few minutes.
  • Now add the coconut milk and curry leaves to the potatoes.
  • Cook the potatoes until the oil separates.
  • Serve this potato thokku as a side dish for rice and rotis.
