Ingredients

  • 1 cup - black gram
  • 3/4 cup - Bengal Gram
  • 1/2 cup - gingili seeds
  • 2 cups -red chillies
  • 3 or 4 small pieces - Asafoetida
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp - cooking oil
  • How to Make Spicy Powder for Dosas-Idlis:

    1. Add a drop of oil, and fry black gram and Bengal gram separately till golden colour.
    2. Drop some more drops of oil and fry asafoetida, red chillies accordingly in low flame till crisp.
    3. Dry roast gingili seeds, salt. Blend all the roasted ingredients cool and grind to dry powder in a mixie, but slightly coarse.
    4. Before serving, add a few drops of oil to powder.
