Ingredients

  • 500g - Prawns - washed and deveined.
  • 1.5 cup - rice - washed.
  • 1 small cup - Snow peas.
  • 2 - Red chillies.
  • 1 tbsp - Desiccated coconut.
  • 2- Cardamoms.
  • 1 " piece- Cinnamon.
  • 1 - Large onion, finely chopped.
  • 1 tsp each of -Turmeric and red chilli powder.
  • 1 tbsp - Garlic ginger paste.
  • Salt to taste.
  • Coriander leaves - a small bunch, chopped, for garnishing.

How to Make Spicy Prawn Biryani with Snow Peas and Coconut

  • Soak washed rice for 45 mins.
  • Marinate the prawns with turmeric and chilli powder and 1/2 tsp salt for 30 mins.
  • Grind the red chillies, desiccated coconut, cardamoms, red chillies and the cinnamon into a smooth masala paste.
  • |Heat oil and saute the onion until pink.
  • Add the garlic ginger paste and stir.
  • Now add the snow peas and the masala paste. Mix well.
  • Add the prawns and mix it well in the paste.
  • Cook on a slow fire.
  • Now drain the rice and add to the prawns mixture.
  • Allow to cook until the rice is cooked.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
