Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • 3 - onions, finely sliced
  • 1-inch piece - ginger, finely sliced
  • 10 Cloves - garlic, finely sliced
  • 1 - green chilli, slit lengthwise
  • 1 sprig - Curry leaves
  • 3/4 tsp - pepper powder
  • 1/4 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1 pinch - Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp - salt
  • 250 gms - Prawns
  • How to Make Spicy Prawns (with pepper powder):

    1. Wash, clean and devein prawns. Drain out the water thoroughly.
    2. In a wide pan, heat oil. Add finely sliced onions and fry till it is golden in color and crisp.
    3. Add ginger, garlic, slit green chilli and curry leaves to it.
    4. Saute on low to medium heat for 5 - 6 minutes or until it is crisp.
    5. Add pepper powder, turmeric powder and red chilli powder to it.
    6. Stir on low heat for 2 - 3 minutes.
    7. Add prawns and salt to it. Mix all the ingredients well.
    8. Do not add water while cooking.
    9. Cover it with a lid and cook on low to medium heat for 8 - 10 minutes or till it is done.
    10. Serve it as a side dish with rice.
