  • 2 cups - puffed rice/pori
  • 1 tsp - oil
  • Peanuts, a fistful
  • 1 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • 1 - dry Red Chilli
  • Curry leaves, a fistful
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 5 big ones - Garlic Cloves
  • Salt - as per taste
  • How to Make Spicy Puffed Rice:

    1. In a wide bottomed pan, heat oil. Add mustard seeds, let it splutter.
    2. Add peanuts and fry on low flame for a 2-3 mins.
    3. Add red chilli, turmeric, red chilli powder, curry leaves, garlic pods all in one go and fry for some time, till garlic turns light brown and groundnuts become crisp.
    4. Add puffed rice, salt and mix well till the puffed rice is mixed well with spices and becomes crispy.
    5. Allow it to cool and store in airtight container.
