Ingredients

  • 1 cup - chaane ki Dal
  • 1 tsp - salt
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp - chilli powder
  • 2 Onions - ground
  • Garlic - 10-12 Cloves
  • 6 - 7 tsps - Ghee
  • Jeera - 1/2 tsp
  • 2 - Tomatoes
  • 1 - Green chilli
  • Garam Masala
  • Coriander leaves
  • How to Make Spicy Punjabi Chaane Ki Dal:

    1. Wash channe ki dal properly with plenty of water.
    2. Put it in pressure cooker along with 3.5 cups of water, add salt, chilly powder and turmeric powder.
    3. After 3 - 4 whistles, lower the heat.
    4. After a little while, turn the gas off but do not release pressure.
    5. Masala preparation:
    6. Take a kadhai, add ghee, add ground onions, garlic, and cook it till onions turn brown.
    7. After that add jeera.
    8. Add crushed tomatoes, cook again for five minutes.
    9. Add green chilly, 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp chilly powder and turmeric.
    10. Put the entire masala in cooker, add hot water if required.
    11. After one more whistle, put it on low fire for some time.
    12. Add garam masala and coriander leaves.
