  • 2 cups - maida
  • 1 tbsp - red chilli powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp - cumin seeds
  • 1 pinch - turmeric powder
  • 1 pinch - asafoetida
  • 2 tbsp - heated oil
  • Oil for frying

How to Make Spicy shankarpoli

  • Roast maida. Add the rest of the ingredients and knead well.
  • Cover with a damp cloth and set aside for 10 mins.
  • Heat oil for frying.
  • Roll out balls of dough just like rotis but a little thicker.
  • Cut into diamond shapes and deep fry.
  • Drain, cool and store in airtight containers.
