Ingredients

  • 4 - onions, minced
  • 3 - chillies, minced
  • few - mint leaves
  • 1 - tomatoes, chopped
  • few - plums
  • 1/2 tsp - pepper powder
  • 2 tbsp - ghee
  • 1/2 tsp - garam masala
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp - chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 6 - mackerels
  • 4 tbsp - cooking oil

How to Make Spicy Stuffed Mackerels

  • Make a paste of chilli powder, turmeric and salt.
  • Smear the fish with the paste and marinate for an hour.
  • To Prepare Stuffing:
  • Heat ghee in a pan. Saute the minced onions till it turns pink.
  • Add the chopped chillies, tomatoes, plums and mint leaves.
  • Fry for 2 mins, add pepper powder, garam masala and salt.
  • When almost done remove from heat.
  • Fill the belly portion of the fish with the onion-plum stuffing. Tie the fish with a thread, so that the filling does not come out.
  • Put enough oil in a frying pan and shallow-fry both sides of the fish on medium heat.
  • Serve hot.
