  • 1 packet - frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 tsp - oil
  • 1/2 kg - fresh Spinach
  • 150 gms - Cottage cheese
  • 1/2 tsp - ground Nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper
  • Beaten Egg to glaze
  • How to Make Spinach and Cheese Pastries:

    1. Roll out the pastry thinly to a rectangle 50 x 40 cm.
    2. Cut into small squares.
    3. Heat the oil in a large pan.
    4. Add the onion and fry until soft.
    5. Add the spinach and cook for 5 mins.
    6. Keep the spinach mixture to the processing bowl and process for 10 seconds.
    7. Then stir in the cheese, nutmeg, salt and pepper to taste.
    8. Put a tsp of filling on each pastry square.
    9. Brush the edges with water and fold over with triangles.
    10. Brush with egg and make 2 cuts in the top.
    11. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 220 degree C for 20 mins, until golden.
    12. Serve hot.
