  • 1 bunch - Spinach
  • 1/2 cup - toor dhal
  • 1 - Onion (small)
  • 1 - Tomato (medium)
  • 3 - Green chillies (medium size)
  • small quantity - mustard
  • 1 tsp - black gram
  • oil
  • salt
  • How to Make Spinach Mash:

    1. Wash spinach leaves 2 to 3 times.
    2. Wash toor dhal and keep in a pressure cooker. Add chopped onions, tomatoes, green chillies, 1/2 cup of water and a little salt to it and let it boil for some 20 minutes in medium flame.
    3. Mash it well and transfer to a bowl.
    4. Heat 1 spoon of oil in a small pan/kadai and add mustard and black gram and fry till it splutters.
    5. Then add this to the content in bowl.
    6. Delicious spinach is ready to be served.
    7. It goes well with rice.
    8. You can add a little ghee to the greens. It will taste yummy!!!!
