How to Make Spring Onion Vegetable

  • Wash the spring onions and cut the green leaves into very small pieces.
  • Heat the oil in a kadai, add mustard seeds. Immediately add turmeric and then the cut spring onions. Cook for about 5-7 minutes.
  • Do not cover the kadai. Keep stirring.
  • Add chilli powder and stir for a while.
  • Do not overcook the vegetables otherwise they will lose their colour.
  • Add salt and a little bit of sugar.
  • Add gram flour 1 tbsp at a time.
  • Keep stirring so that lumps are not formed. There should be no dry flour in the kadai. Add flour only until the oil can absorb it.
  • After that just stir fry the vegetable on low flame continuously for a minute or two.
