How to Make Steamed Egg Cubes Masala

  • Take a bowl; beat well for a while the eggs with turmeric powder, pepper powder and salt.
  • Take a pressure cooker with little water and heat it.
  • Pour the beaten egg mixture into a greased pan or bowl and steam cook (as we do for idlis) in pressure cooker.
  • After 5 minutes, check by inserting a toothpick.
  • If it is clean put off the stove and take off the steamed egg mixture and keep aside.
  • Let it cool and cut it into cubes.
  • Heat oil in a kadai, add the mustard seeds, urad dal, cumin seeds and let it splutter.
  • Add the onion, tomatoes and green chillies.
  • Fry until it is cooked.
  • Add garam masala powder, red chilli powder and salt. Stir on medium flame. Once the spices get mixed well, add a cup of water and cook for a few minutes with lid closed.
  • Add the steamed cubed egg pieces to the gravy.
  • Stir occasionally until the oil separates.
  • Add curry leaves and coriander leaves to the masala.
  • Serve hot as side dish.
