Ingredients

  • For mutton rolls:
  • 450 g - meat, finely minced (kheema)
  • 1 tsp - garlic paste
  • 3/4 tsp - salt
  • 1 tbsp - refined oil
  • 3/4 tsp - garam masala
  • 2 - beaten eggs
  • 2 tbsp - onions (finely chopped)
  • 2 - green chillies (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 cup - breadcrumbs
  • For kofta:
  • 20 - large cabbage leaves (blanched in salted water and drained well)
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • 1/4 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1 cup - water

How to Make Steamed Mutton Kofta In Cabbage Leaves

  • For mutton rolls:
  • Mix all the ingredients and knead thoroughly for 4-5 minutes.
  • Shape into 20 rolls.
  • Refrigerate for 20 minutes.
  • For kofta:
  • Enclose the mutton rolls in each cabbage leaf, tucking the ends in well.
  • Place the cabbage rolls in a pan with 1 cup of water to which 1 tsp of oil has been added.
  • Cook, covered, on low flame for about 25-30 minutes, till the water dries up.
  • Serve hot, sprinkled with a little chilli powder if desired.
