How to Make Steamed Rice Cakes

  • Soak the kidney beans for 1 hour.
  • Wash the rice in water and dry it in a muslin cloth for half an hour. The powder it fine and sieve out the coarse grains
  • In a kadai, fry the soaked kidney beans and cook well.
  • Now add the powdered jaggery.
  • When the water starts to boil, add the powdered rice and mix well.
  • Keep mixing till all the water is absorbed. Then add the coconut pieces and remove from fire.
  • After 10 mins, mix again and make small balls.
  • Flatten them slightly and make a hole in the centre.
  • Steam the cakes for 10 mins in a pressure cooker.
  • Serve with fresh butter.
