  • 3 tbsp - sugar
  • 350 ml - red wine
  • 250 ml - cream
  • 300 gms - dark coating chocolate, chopped
  • 200 gms - sponge fingers (available in gourmet stores)
  • 150 gms - whole strawberries
  • 100 gms - strawberries, for garnishing

How to Make Strawberry trifle

  • Put the red wine and sugar in a pan and bring it to a boil over low heat at about 80 degrees C.
  • Add 150 gms of the strawberries to the red wine and poach gently on low heat for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set it aside to cool.
  • In another pan, boil the cream with the chocolate until it has melted. Set aside to cool.
  • Layer individual serving glasses with sponge fingers, poached strawberries, a dollop of the chocolate cream and repeat.
  • Top with the remaining strawberries and serve chilled.
