Ingredients

  • 4 cups - Wheat flour
  • 200 gm - yellow moong dal
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 glass - water
  • 2 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - Mango powder
  • 12 tbsp - Ghee
  • sufficient water to knead the dough
  • Salt.
  • How to Make Stuffed Dal Paratha:

    1. Wash and soak the dal in water for two hours. Drain the water. Place the dal in a heavy bottom vessel.
    2. Add salt, turmeric powder and half a glass of water. Mix well.
    3. Cook the dal on a low flame, stirring two to three times at regular intervals.
    4. Cook till the dal is tender and the water dries.
    5. Remove from gas and cool the dal completely.
    6. Add red chilli powder, mango powder and mix well.
    7. Make the dough with salt.
    8. Divide the dough into equal portions.
    9. Take each portion and roll it out a little.
    10. Apply a little ghee on it.
    11. Place about 2 tbsp of the dal in the centre of the chapatti.
    12. Gather the edges.
    13. Dip into flour and roll it out into a slightly thick roti.
    14. Roast on a pre-heated tawa on a medium flame till both the sides are golden, applying ghee (approximately 1 tsp) when turning sides.
    15. Parathas can be served with a dollop of butter on them.
