Ingredients

  • 8 - large prawns
  • 1 - onion, large
  • 2 - 3 - green chillies
  • 3 cm piece - ginger
  • 1 tsp - garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp - pepper powder
  • egg and breadcrumbs to coat
  • oil to deep fry
  • salt to taste

How to Make Stuffed Fried Prawns

  • Clean the prawns and slit them along the back, keeping them attached at the other side (like butterfly prawns).
  • Grind onion, ginger, green chillies together to a paste (do not add water).
  • Mix in garam masala and pepper powder. Add salt.
  • Fill the prawns with this paste. Smear remaining paste (if any) on the outside.
  • Roll the prawns in breadcrumbs to make the paste stick.
  • Dip in beaten egg and roll in breadcrumbs again.
  • Deep-fry in hot oil till golden. Serve hot.
