How to Make Stuffed Tangy Bitter Gourd

  • Slit the bitter gourd and remove the seeds.
  • Now boil it for 5 minute in water and drain to reduce the bitterness.
  • Now put it in a bowl and add tamarind paste, jaggery, chilly powder, turmeric powder and salt along with a little water and let it cook.
  • Drain it again and keep aside.
  • Now soak the tur dal in water for one hour.
  • Coarse grind the tur dal, coconut, red chillies, cumin, asafoetida, turmeric powder and salt.
  • Do not add any water while grinding.
  • Now stuff this into the slit bitter gourd.
  • Deep fry the stuffed bitter gourd until both the stuffing and the outer portion gets cooked.
