Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups - semolina (rava)
  • 1.5 cups - sugar, granulated
  • 6 cups - water
  • 2 - green cardamom, crushed
  • 1 tbsp - nuts, chopped
  • 1 tbsp - coconut, desiccated
  • 1 cup - clarified Butter

How to Make Suji Halwa (Semolina Pudding)

  • Heat clarified butter in a wok.
  • Add semolina and keeping the heat low; roast it for 10-15 minutes till it is light brown.
  • Add chopped nuts and stir for 1 minute, maintaining the low heat.
  • In another vessel, boil 6 cups of water and crushed cardamoms.
  • Add sugar and as the sugar melts, turn off the stove.
  • Add it to semolina and cook till it comes together in a soft ball.
  • Spread on a plate and sprinkle desiccated coconut on top.
