  • 1 cup (minus 2 tbsp) - semolina
  • 2 tbsp - Wheat flour
  • 1 cup - Sugar or more as per later
  • 3 cups - water
  • ½ cup - Ghee
  • few strands Saffron
  • 10 to 12 Almonds (finely sliced)
  • How to Make Suji Ka Halwa:

    1. Put the ghee into a large microwave-safe, flat-bottomed dish. Microwave at 100% power for 3 mins.
    2. While the ghee is warming, dry roast the semolina flour in a kadai.
    3. Keep tossing and stirring till it is golden brown and aromatic.
    4. Simultaneously, put the sugar, saffron and water in a pan and bring to boil.
    5. Once the ghee is heated, add the roasted semolina and flour, stir and cook at the same power level for 1 minute.
    6. Now take the dish out of the microwave, stirring constantly, pour in the sugar syrup.
    7. Keep the dish in the microwave and cook for 4 mins, uncovered, stirring after every minute.
    8. Let it stand for 2 mins before serving into a pouring dish and garnishing with sliced almonds.
