Ingredients

  • 4 - cups suji (semolina)
  • 3.5 - cups sugar
  • 1 - freshly grated coconut
  • 1.5 - katori ghee
  • 1.5 - katori water
  • pinch of elaichi powder
  • thinly sliced almonds, pista, cashews
  • raisins

How to Make Suji Nariyal Ladoo

  • Take ghee in a pan and add suji to it.
  • Roast on a low flame till pink.
  • Add the grated coconut to it and roast for another 2-3 mins.
  • In a separate vessel, put the water and add sugar to it.
  • Boil till sugar melts and forms a sticky solution (chashni).
  • Once it's done, turn off the gas and immediately add the suji-coconut mix to it.
  • Now, add elaichi powder and sliced nuts and raisins to it.
  • Mix well and keep stirring at regular intervals till it reaches a semi-solid state.
  • It takes 2-3 hours to reach a state where you can make laddoos of the mix.
  • Once the proper state is reached, make the laddoos.
  • Alternately, you can also roll out the mix in a greased plate and cut into square pieces once its set.
