Ingredients

  • For besan-curd mixture:
  • 2 tbsp - gram flour
  • 200 ml - curd
  • 1/4 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp - salt
  • 1 cup - water
  • Other ingredients:
  • 1 - green chilli
  • 1/2-inch piece - chopped ginger
  • 1 tsp - sugar
  • 4 - curry leaves
  • 1 tsp - oil / ghee
  • 1 tsp - cumin seed powder

How to Make Surati Kadhi

  • Blend curd, gram flour, turmeric powder and salt in a blender until it is creamy and smooth.
  • Add 1 cup of water and blend it again.
  • Make a smooth paste of green chilli and chopped ginger.
  • In a bowl, mix blended gram flour-curd mixture, ginger-chilli paste, sugar and curry leaves together.
  • Gently mix it well and cook on low heat for 10 - 12 minutes. Stir it occasionally.
  • In a small pan, heat ghee or oil. Add jeera powder and stir it well on low heat for 30 seconds. You will get a nice aroma.
  • Pour this seasoning over the kadhi and serve it with steamed rice.
