Ingredients

  • For besan-curd mixture:
  • 2 tbsp - gram flour
  • 200 ml - Curd
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp - salt
  • 1 cup - water
  • Other ingredients:
  • 1 - Green chilli
  • 1/2-inch piece - chopped Ginger
  • 1 tsp - Sugar
  • 4 - Curry leaves
  • 1 tsp - oil / Ghee
  • 1 tsp - Cumin seed powder
  • How to Make Surati Kadhi:

    1. Blend curd, gram flour, turmeric powder and salt in a blender until it is creamy and smooth.
    2. Add 1 cup of water and blend it again.
    3. Make a smooth paste of green chilli and chopped ginger.
    4. In a bowl, mix blended gram flour-curd mixture, ginger-chilli paste, sugar and curry leaves together.
    5. Gently mix it well and cook on low heat for 10 - 12 minutes. Stir it occasionally.
    6. In a small pan, heat ghee or oil. Add jeera powder and stir it well on low heat for 30 seconds. You will get a nice aroma.
    7. Pour this seasoning over the kadhi and serve it with steamed rice.
