Ingredients

  • 1 cup - desiccated coconut flakes
  • 1/4 cup - edible gum granules
  • 1/4 cup - finely chopped or grated dry dates (khajur)
  • 1 level cup - powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp - dried ginger (soonth) powder
  • 1 tbsp - wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp - cardamom powder
  • 1 tsp - crushed aniseed (saunf)
  • 3 tbsp - ghee

How to Make Sutoda

  • Melt ghee in a heavy pan.
  • Stir in flour, then add gum granules.
  • They will pop, stir till fully popped.
  • Take off fire, add all other ingredients.
  • Mix well, check for taste if more sugar is required.
  • Press well into a container, in loose form.
  • Serve as required.
