Ingredients

  • 400 g - paneer, cut into cubes
  • 2 - medium size onion (paste in mixie)
  • 1 tsp - garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp- sugar
  • 1 tbsp - vinegar
  • 2 tsp - tomato ketchup
  • 1 tsp - chilli sauce
  • 1 tsp - soya sauce
  • 1/2 - cucumber, cut in circles
  • 1/2 - carrot, cut in circles
  • 1/2 - each of red, yellow and green capsicums cut into cubes
  • 5 to 6 - baby corns
  • 1 tea cup - pineapple cubed and soaked in sugar syrup for an hour
  • 1.5 tbsp - corn flour
  • 1 pinch - ajinomoto
  • red chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp - sunflower oil/olive oil
  • salt

How to Make Sweet and Sour Paneer

  • Boil cucumber, carrot, capsicum, babycorn and pineapple till all the vegetables become soft (preferably in a microwave).
  • Add sunflower oil/olive oil to non stick pan. Saute the onion, garlic and 1 tsp sugar till slightly browned.
  • Now add the tomato ketchup, chilli sauce, soya sauce and stir till the paste is cooked.
  • Next add all the boiled fruits and vegetables along with the paneer and 2 cups of water.
  • Now add the vinegar and sugar. Let it simmer.
  • Now mix the corn flour in cold water and pour it on the paneer while stirring continuously.
  • Once again let it simmer.
  • Sprinkle ajinomoto and mix it well.
  • Serve hot with fried rice or noodles.
