Ingredients

  • Rice - 1/2 kg
  • Black gram dhal - 1/4 kg
  • Bengal gram dhal - 200 g
  • Jaggery - 150 g
  • Elaichi as required
  • Oil for fry

How to Make Sweet Balls (Poornam)

  • First soak the rice and black gram dal for five to six hours.
  • Boil the Bengal gram dal in water. Grind the rice and black gram dal like a paste.
  • With boiled Bengal gram dal, add jaggery and elaichi. Cook it till dry.
  • Divide the dhal mixture into even sized portions. Shape each portion like a ball (size as you like).
  • Cover with the rice and black gram dal paste.
  • Take the oil in frying pan and heat the oil. Fry the covered dal portions.
