How to Make Sweet Pepper Paruppu Usili

  • Soak the Bengal gram dal and toor dal in water for an hour. Grind it well with chillies, salt and asafoetida. Grind it to a smooth paste.
  • Add 2 tsp of oil and pour the paste onto a microwave dish. Cook on high for 4 minutes.
  • Now finely chop the green peppers.
  • Cook the green peppers in a kadai with one tsp of oil for about 8-10 minutes.
  • Heat the rest of the oil in a non-stick pan. Add the mustard seed and the urad dal.
  • Now add the cooked dal paste and the green peppers. Mix well. Cook it in a low flame. Remove it when it is well cooked.
  • Serve it with hot rice.
