  • 1 - Sweet potato (medium size)
  • 1/2 cup - Chickpeas (canned)
  • 1 - Onion (chopped)
  • 1/4 tsp - Fennel seed powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp - Garam masala powder
  • Salt
  • 1/4 cup - Bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp - Corn flour
  • Oil

How to Make Sweet Potato N Chickpeas Cutlet

  • Peel the sweet potato and chop it roughly.
  • Add salt and cook in enough water till soft.
  • Drain the water and mash the sweet potato pieces.
  • Heat a few spoons of oil and saute the chopped onions until they turn translucent.
  • Coarsely mash the canned chickpeas. Now add the cooked onions, mashed chickpeas, red chilli powder, fennel seed powder, garam masala powder and salt to the mashed sweet potato and knead into a dough.
  • Make 10-12 balls of this mixture and flatten it to the shape of cutlets.
  • Mix the corn flour with enough water to make a white paste.
  • Dip each cutlet in this white sauce, remove and roll it evenly in bread crumbs, and shallow fry it until both sides of the cutlet turns brown.
  • Remove and place on paper towels to drain the excess oil.
  • Serve hot.
