Ingredients

  • Tomatoes - 1/2 kg
  • Sugar - 200 g
  • Paanch Phoron - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Cooking oil - 1/2 tbsp

How to Make Sweet Tomato Chutney

  • Cut the tomatoes in small cubes. No need to take out the seeds.
  • Heat the oil in a pan. When smoking hot, throw in the paanch phoron. Let it splutter.
  • Then throw in the tomatoes and stir fry for a minute. Sprinkle salt, cover and cook for 5 mins.
  • Remove cover, mash the tomatoes with the back of a large spoon.
  • Add sugar and cook uncovered for about 7 mins.
