Ingredients

  • 2 cups - rice
  • 2 tbsp - poppy seeds
  • 1 cup - roasted cashew nut
  • 1/2 tsp - cardamom powder
  • Condensed milk, to bind
  • 1/4 tsp - salt

How to Make Sweet Undralu

  • Wash the rice well. Drain and spread on a cloth and dry.
  • Powder it in a mixer to the consistency of fine semolina (rava).
  • Add 4 cups of water to the rice rava and cook in a thick pan till it forms a lump.
  • Now add salt.
  • Roast the poppy seeds and grind with cashewnuts into coarse powder.
  • Add enough condensed milk to this powder, so that the mixture can be shaped into balls.
  • Shape the rice mixture into lime sized balls, with a marble size cashewnut filling in the centre.
  • Steam the balls for 8-10 mins.
  • Serve warm.
