Ingredients

  • 1 bunch -tambidi bhajji / Amaranth leaves )
  • 2 tsp - oil
  • 1 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - Jeera ( Cumin seeds )
  • 1/2 tsp - Urad Dal
  • 1/2 tsp - salt ( or to taste )
  • For Coconut mixture (grind):
  • 2 tbsp - grated Coconut
  • 1/2 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • How to Make Tambidi Bhajji Sukke - Cheera Thoran:

    1. Wash and clean tambidi bhajji.
    2. Drain out water thoroughly and cut into small pieces.
    3. In a wide pan / kadai, heat oil and add mustard seeds.
    4. When they begin to pop, add cumin seeds and urad dal.
    5. Add amaranth leaves / bhajji and mix well.
    6. Cover with a lid and cook on low to medium heat for 10 - 12 minutes. Do not add water. Stir occasionally.
    7. When it is done add coconut mixture and salt to taste. Stir well for 2 minutes or until amaranth leaves well mixed with coconut mixture.
    8. Serve with rice and dal / dali thoy.
