Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg - sliced King/seer fish
  • 3 - medium-sized onions, chopped finely
  • 2 - tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 cup - Tamarind juice
  • 1 tsp - cumin powder
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 2 tsp - chopped Garlic
  • 1 tsp - chopped Ginger
  • 4 - green chilli, slit lengthwise
  • 3 tbsp - oil
  • salt
  • How to Make Tangy king fish-seer fish curry:

    1. Wash the fish and marinate it with a pinch of salt and turmeric powder for 15 mins.
    2. Heat oil in suitable vessel and saute the onions, ginger, garlic for about 5 mins.
    3. Add the tomatoes, chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt and tamarind juice. Fry on low heat till the tomatoes are pulpy.
    4. Add half cup of water and bring it to a boil.
    5. Add the sliced fish and green chillies and mix it gently.
    6. Simmer on low heat for about 7 mins till the fish is cooked.
    7. Serve it with rice or bread.
