How to Make Tangy Tomato Rice

  • Soak rice in water for half an hour.
  • Make a smooth puree of coconut, ginger, garlic, poppy seeds, dhania powder, cinnamon, cloves and tomatoes.
  • Take oil in a pressure cooker, fry the chopped onions for 2 mins.
  • Add chopped tomatoes and saute it for 2-3 mins.
  • Add peas and add puree from step 2, let it fry for few more minutes.
  • Now add the rice, salt, red chilli powder and 2 cups of water.
  • Close the lid of the pressure cooker, after one whistle turn off the stove.
  • Wait for the pressure cooker to cool down.
  • Now remove the lid, the tomato bath is ready to serve.
  • Garnish it with coriander leaves.
