Ingredients

  • 2 - dry Coconut halves (medium size), cut into small pieces
  • Salt
  • 7 to 8 - peeled Garlic pods
  • 1 tsp - cumin, dry fried
  • 4 to 5 - red chillies, dry fried

How to Make Tasty coconut podi

  • Put the red chilli, salt, garlic and cumin in a mixer and powder.
  • Prepare a coarse powder of the coconut pieces.
  • Add the chilli-garlic powder the coconut powder and blend for 1-2 mins into a medium-coarse powder.
  • Remove and preserve in a fridge (as it may get spoiled if kept out side for long time).
  • Serve with hot plain rice with a spoonful of ghee.
  • The powder may be added to cluster bean/beans/other dry curries before removing from fire.
