  • 1/2 cup - whole green gram (moong)
  • 1/2 cup - gram dal
  • 4 -ripe Tomatoes cut into cubes
  • 4- Onions finely chopped
  • 1 inch -chopped Ginger
  • 1 tsp - chopped coriander
  • 1.5 tsp -chilli powder
  • Sugar
  • salt
  • How to Make Tasty Dal:

    1. Cook the dals together in the pressure cooker. Wait for five to six whistles. Allow it to cool.
    2. In a pan take the oil and heat it.
    3. To this add onion, ginger and fry till the onions turn golden brown.
    4. Now add the tomatoes and let them cook for a few minutes.
    5. Now add the cooked dal and stir.
    6. Add all the dry masalas, salt and sugar.
    7. Boil on a low flame, stirring occasionally for 5-10 minutes.
    8. Add the fresh cream before taking it away from the fire.
    9. Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot with roti or puri or any rice dish.
