Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup - whole green gram (moong)
  • 1/2 cup - gram dal
  • 4 -ripe Tomatoes cut into cubes
  • 4- Onions finely chopped
  • 1 inch -chopped Ginger
  • 1 tsp - chopped coriander
  • 1.5 tsp -chilli powder
  • Sugar
  • salt

How to Make Tasty Dal

  • Cook the dals together in the pressure cooker. Wait for five to six whistles. Allow it to cool.
  • In a pan take the oil and heat it.
  • To this add onion, ginger and fry till the onions turn golden brown.
  • Now add the tomatoes and let them cook for a few minutes.
  • Now add the cooked dal and stir.
  • Add all the dry masalas, salt and sugar.
  • Boil on a low flame, stirring occasionally for 5-10 minutes.
  • Add the fresh cream before taking it away from the fire.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot with roti or puri or any rice dish.
