Ingredients

  • 1 - medium sized Bottle Gourd (doodhi)
  • 1/4 cup - tur dal
  • 1 - large Tomato
  • salt
  • 2 - Green chillies
  • 1 - medium sized Ginger
  • 1 tsp - Ghee (saturated butter)
  • 1/4 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 tsp - Jeera
  • How to Make Tasty Doodhi dal:

    1. Boil tur dal in a pressure cooker with ample amount of water.
    2. Cut doodhi and boil separately in a vessel.
    3. Puree the tomato along with chillies and ginger and add it to the boiled doodhi.
    4. Whip the boiled tur dal and add to the doodhi. Add salt and turmeric powder to it.
    5. Season with ghee, mustard seeds and jeera.
