Ingredients

  • 2 cups basmati rice, washed and soaked for 30 minutes
  • 3 tbsp Ghee
  • A handful of Cashew nuts
  • A handful of raisins, soaked in water for 1 hour
  • 2 onions, longitudinally and finely cut
  • 4 Cardamoms (opened)
  • 1 inch Cinnamon
  • 4 Cloves
  • 3 Bay Leaves
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Tasty Ghee Rice

  • Boil rice with salt.
  • Heat ghee in a kadai.
  • Add cashew nuts and fry till light brown.
  • Add raisins.
  • Add cinnamon, cloves, cardamoms (with cover) and bay leaves. Fry for 2-3 seconds.
  • Add cut onions and fry till they become tender and light brown.
  • Now add this to the prepared rice and mix well.
  • Serve hot with gravy/chicken curry.
