Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup - rice, basmati
  • 4 cups - Milk
  • 1 cup - Sugar
  • 1 tsp - Cardamom powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Kesar (Saffron) Or yellow food color
  • 1/4 cup - almonds, shredded
  • 1/4 cup - Raisins
  • How to Make Tasty Kheer:

    1. Wash and soak the rice in water for 1/2 hour.
    2. Now boil milk in a pan and add the rice to it.
    3. Simmer on low heat for 1.5 hours.
    4. Stir frequently to prevent the kheer from sticking.
    5. When the rice is cooked and the mixture gets a creamy consistency, add sugar and stir well.
    6. Remove from heat and add cardamom powder, saffron (kesar - optional or yellow food color), shredded almonds and raisins.
    7. Serve hot or cold.
